Getting there!

Okay.

Let's get something straight.

This is a rural location with winding roads and you're probably going to find that most internet maps or GPS devices get a bit confused with the address.

Luckily there are very few roads on the mountain so brush off those pre 2005 direction skills and you'll be fine. City dwellers be warned, these roads don't run in straight lines.... oh and don't go falling off the edge, this is the top of a MOUNTAIN!

Janet is telling me to tone down the bourbon attitude and get to some real information. So here goes.

Firstly you can use google maps, but to get to the Baileys you'll have to use this location: 33650 Bailey Meadow Road, Palomar Mountain, California, 92060 - this is where the map below links to.

For those flying in, the best location to arrive would be San Diego. After that, the John Wayne airport in Orange county to the north, or even LAX can all be worth considering based on flight cost.

The mountain is about 2-3 hours from anywhere. Those are a cool 2-3 hours though as you drive from coastal Southern California into semi-desert and then up to to the cooler pine forest of the mountain. If you kept going onto the other side, another hours drive will have you in the Anza Borrego desert, and you could probably get to the Salton Sea in two hours.
