From North County San Diego (encinitas, carlsbad, cardiff, oceanside, etc) via Pala
I-5 north towards Los Angeles
Take Highway 76 EAST (exit 54a)
-----large grocery stores (Ralph's or Von's) can be found about 5 miles in on highway 76 on the right side---------
continue on highway 76 for about 29 miles from grocery stores towards pauma valley and lake henshaw
at about the 29 mile point, note that 76 east veers a bit to the left- make sure you continue to follow it!
in about 5 miles you will see a sign for s-6 towards Palomar Mountain
VEER LEFT onto s-6 towards Palomar Mountian.
(Note that s-6 goes in more than one direction, so if you find yourself at Harrah's you've gone the wrong way)
You should pass Oak Knoll campground on your left as you head up S-6, also called the "south grade road" of Palomar Mountain. After about 7 miles of curves and turns, you'll reach the top. Turn left onto East Grade Road and then make another immediate left towards the state park onto S-7. Mother's Kitchen and the Palomar Mountain General Store will be on your right as you make the turn. Follow S-7 for about 1 mile until you see Bailey Meadow Road on your right and a wooden sign that says "Bailey's". Follow this road for about 1 more mile until you reach the end- the Bailey House will be on the right!
From San Diego City area (via Pala)
Take I-15 north to Highway 76 East towards Pala
note that 76 east veers a bit to the left at the crossroads of rincon springs road and valley center- make sure you continue to follow it!
