As you will read on their website, Bailey's is a place rich in heritage and history. The main house at Bailey's Palomar Resort was built in 1888 by homesteaders from Kentucky looking for a better life out west. The dance hall was built in 1925 and seems to have held some pretty fun gatherings over the years, even despite prohibition. The surrounding areas have long held many sacred spots for Native Americans who knew the mountain for its free flowing spring and peaceful vistas. The Bailey property has fern meadows and hundred year old Black Walnut trees. Brad Bailey, who runs the Resort today with his wife and their children, is the great grandson of the original homesteaders, Theodore and Mary Bailey, who came to California in 1884.
